Ordering & Customization

How do I order a custom firefighter helmet shield?

Select the style shield you like, Select your text for the top, middle, and bottom sections.  Email any logo to boxalarmink@gmail.com

What information do I need to provide when ordering a shield?

Logo, top, middle, and bottom text, any other information you would like. 

Can I send you my department logo or artwork?

Yes, boxalarmink@gmail.com

What file formats do you accept for logos or artwork?

SVG format is best, high quality jpeg or png is accetable, perferred if the background is removed. 

Will I see a design proof before my shield is made?

Yes, we will email a proof of the design.  If you don't like it, or want a revisions, we will be happy to do that.  

Can you design a shield if I only have an idea or rough sketch?

Yes, however we are not designers and do not make custom logos. 

 

Fit & Compatibility

Will your helmet shields fit my fire helmet?

One size definitely doesn’t fit all. Depending on your helmet, our shields may not work.

Many firefighter helmets use different size shields and different holes patterns.  All of our shields are 6" tall. 

5" Tall x 5.5" Wide - example - Some FireDex

6" Tall x 5.5" Wide  - example -  Cairns 1010 & 1044

6.25" Tall x 6" Wide  - example - Pacific F18s and select Cairns 1010 & 1044

6.5" Tall x 6" Wide  - example - Cairns N5A and N6A leather helmets

6.5" Tall x 6.25" Wide - example - Phenix TL-2 minimum size, also fits Cairns N5A/N6A

What size helmet front do your shields fit? 

Our shields are 6" tall x 5.75" wide.  They can fit helmets that use 6.5" shields by centering the shield between the brim and the shield holder.  They will not fit helmets that use a 5" shield.  

Do the shields come pre-drilled?

No, we supply a template with the most common hole pattern, but it would be up to the custom to meausure, mark, and drill the holes.

Can shields be curved to fit my helmet?

We curve all shields before they leave our shop. If you want a flat shield, please let us know.  

 

Materials & Durability

What material are your helmet shields made from?

Galvanized metal, which makes them waterproof and weather resistant. 

Will the colors fade over time?

They will not fade in sunlight or normal use.  If you exceed the limits of your turnout gear, SCBA mask and componets, the industrial sublimtaion coating might be faded due to the extreme heat.  That is only in extreme cases. 

How durable are metal firefighter helmet shields?

Built tough for firefighters woking on the fireground. 

Design Options

What styles of helmet shields do you offer?

Currently we offer traditional and notched shields.  We have some chevrons left but are no longer stocking that style

What colors are available for shields and lettering?

They great thing about sublimation, colors and styling are endless

Can I add rank, station number, or department name?

Yes, no problem.  

Can I add custom artwork or logos to the center?

Yes, please email us the logo

Do you offer special edition or themed shields?

Yes, we can make special edition and/or themaed sheilds for you or your special event. 

Shipping & Production Time

How long does it take to make a custom shield?

Normally a shield only take a couple days from the time the proof is approved by you.

How long does shipping take?

We mostly ship using USPS ground advanage.  It takes about 3-4 days to get delivered. 

Do you offer rush orders?

Customers can opt for priority shipping.

Will I receive tracking information?

yes, once your item is done, our system will email you with the tracking number.

Can the shield be made flat for display instead of a helmet?

Yes, firefighters can supply a design shield, name plate background, or custom playing card artwork.  If you design it, we can make it.
